Hello dearly loved, how was your week? I believe it was good because of His abundant grace. This is Eugene from FocusChrist. It is always my joy to come your way with the words of life from the Prince of Life Jesus Christ, who was sent by the Father to teach us the way back to God and did so with such indescribable love. This is the love that has drawn us to God and is keeping us alive in Him. You are welcome to FocusChrist.

In our last session, we concluded our series on “The Will of The Father” and we talked about Knowing Jesus as Christ your Lord”. Jesus after He washed the feet of His disciples said to them “If I, your Teacher and Lord, have washed your feet, then you ought to wash one another’s feet because I have set an example for you to follow”. We noted that to make Jesus Lord means, obeying Him, doing what He says or teaches, loving one another just as He loved us. Making Jesus Lord over our lives also means we are His servants who work for Him. As witnesses, we testify that whatever Jesus teaches is true and we live according to His teachings. We will begin with our new series The Love of Christ today, but before we begin, let me remind you that all the short videos from FocusChrist are available on our website, our YouTube channel, and Facebook page. You can also access our podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Anchor, Spotify, and 8 other platforms including ListenNotes. You can also google FocusChrist as one word and access most of the links to our work we have done and still doing. God bless you.

This is The Love of Christ Series and today we are going to look at the “Origin of the love of Christ”.

Jesus is the Son of God who was sent by the Father from heaven to come to the earth and teach sinners the way back to God and sacrifice His life for everyone who is born into the world. This is is what the Bible says in John 3:16 when Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus, one of the Jewish leaders, and a religious teacher who came to Jesus in the night, because he did not want the people to see that he was going to Jesus. In their conversations, Jesus said what we are about to read in John 3:16 and 17

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (please not the word only in this verse, only, we will reflect on it) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus continued to speak saying

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Dearly loved, it was the love of the Father of Jesus Christ that brought Jesus to the world. The love of the Father God, sent the only begotten Son to come into the world to bring us the message of life from God Himself. This message was successfully delivered to us in this world by His Son Jesus Christ.

The word only, tells you and I the value God places on His Son and how much God loves you. With that high value of you and me, He sent His Son Jesus to come and teach us the way to God, and to demonstrate His genuine love to us by dying a disgraceful death on the cross for you and me.

The Bible says in Romans 5:8

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:8‬

The love of Christ originated from the Father. It was the Father that loved you with the same love that He loves the Son, (note it is the same love with which He loves the Son Jesus, that He loves you, we will go into the scriptures about this truth soon). God sent His only begotten Son Jesus to come into the world to teach sinners the way to Him God, not only that but also to give His life as a sacrifice for all. This is a true saying that Jesus Christ died for all sinners.

Let’s read from John 16:25-28

This was when Jesus had come to the end of His 3 and half years of ministry of teaching and was about to be crucified, the scripture we are about to read is part of the last words He was sharing with His disciples.

“These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father for the Father Himself loves you,

The father Himself loves you, the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16:25, 27-28‬

Let’s read John 5:20

“For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.”

John 5:20, now let’s read

‭‭John‬ ‭17:20-23

This scripture is the ending part of a prayer Jesus said before He went to die on the cross for you and me. Listen carefully to this prayer, and feel the love of Christ.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

And have loved them as You have loved Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

‭‭John‬ ‭17:20-23‬

Dearly loved, I always use this phrase “dearly loved” not because of the beauty in the words, but the reality of God’s love for you. Think about this for a minute, the love with which the Father loves the Son is the same love that He loves you. An intense love that binds the Father to the Son from eternity past to eternity future, the love between the Father and the Son is the same love that He has loved you and me. This is amazing. Truly amazing to know. The origin of the love of Christ is the Love of the Father. Dearly love, give all your heart to Him, Jesus Christ who loved you, and even prayed for you before He was crucified for you and me.

Let us love Him and obey His voice. Let us follow Him daily and His teachings and live like He did, love like He loved, obey God the Father, just as He did, even to His own death on the cross. This is how much God loves you through Jesus Christ His Son.

God bless you for listening. God willing next week we shall continue and talk about The purpose of The Love of Christ. Please share this media with your friends and loved ones. Listen to FocusChrist, on your preferred Podcast. Google FocusChrist as one word and find links to most of our work on focusing on Christ Jesus.

May the Lord give you understanding into the knowledge of Jesus Christ His Son, fill you with the spirit of wisdom that you will know exactly what to do as you live your life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Please pray for me too, so that I will continue to preach Christ with boldness and simplicity for everyone to understand what “The Love of Christ” is.

God be with you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen and Bye.
